Flipboard asked me to rate the app in an in-app pop up. Trying to submit 1 star was not allowed. So to read an article you end up downloading megabytes of ads and ad-tracking scripts from every publisher. That is, unless the publisher has an agreement with Flipboard, in which case Flipboard inserts its own full page ads you cannot pinch out of. That said, Flipboard is very useful and gives you the opportunity to browse through articles within topics of interest in a very nice way.
Apples own News app is a strong contender though, but for now I do prefer Flipboard. Sorry you're experiencing these crashes. Have you already tried clearing your content cache and quitting the app from multitasking yet?
